IFIP Student Travel Grants
The International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) will provide support for graduate students to attend the IFIP NETWORKING 2024 conference. Two grants will be awarded, each one up to a maximum of € 750.
Eligibility Criteria
The IFIP student grants provide support for graduate students from one of the IFIP member countries. The final award is contingent upon the receipt showing a proof of registration, by emailing the receipt of registration to the student travel grant chairs.

Application procedure
Applications for grants will be evaluated by a committee consisting of the TC6 chair and the chairs of the TC6 working groups 6.2, 6.3 and 6.8. Grants will be awarded based on the evaluating committee’s assessment of the applicants’ genuine financial needs, the potential benefit to his/her education, research, and career, and the potential benefit to the conference. The committee may favour those who are (co-)authors of accepted papers to avoid “no shows,” and may decide to make only one award per university.
To apply for an IFIP grant, please fill in the IFIP STG Request form and provide a letter with a short description of yourself such as name, institution, program and why you are interested to attend the conference. Also indicate whether you are an author of an accepted paper. The application (STG Request Form and letter) should be sent to ichatz at diag.uniroma1.it and the email subject should be "IFIP STG for IFIP Networking 2024".

NSF Student Travel Grants
The National Science Foundation (NSF) will provide support for US-based graduate students to attend the IFIP NETWORKING 2024 conference. Three grants will be awarded, each one up to a maximum of $2500.
Eligibility Criteria
The National Science Foundation (NSF) will provide support for US-based graduate students to attend the IFIP NETWORKING 2024 conference. Interested students must submit an application to be considered.
To receive reimbursement after the conference, awardees must:
- check-in with assigned mentor at the conference
- prepare a testimonial (more info on this with award notification)
- provide original receipts for all legitimate expenses
Award Amount
Three grants will be awarded, each one up to a maximum of $ 2500.
Application procedure
The application process consists of two steps, see below. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Applications received after May 9, 2024 may not be reviewed.

Included in this application is
- a brief summary of research interests and accomplishments to date; students should demonstrate a serious interest in networking, through their course work and projects
- a description of areas reflected in the NETWORKING 2024 program that would impact your research
- a statement regarding why conference attendance is important to you

- your curriculum vitae, PDF file named "firstname_lastname_cv.pdf"
- a reference letter from your graduate advisor, PDF file named "firstname_lastname_reference.pdf"
- an itemized estimate of your travel expenses to attend NETWORKING 2024, PDF file named "firstname_lastname_expenses.pdf"
The reference letter from your advisor should address the following:
- Confirmation that the student is a graduate student in good academic standing.
- The suitability of the NETWORKING 2024 program material to the student’s research area.
- How this particular student would benefit from attendance at the conference.
- The strengths and potential contributions of the student.
- The advisor’s commitment to covering the student’s travel cost in excess of the $2500 travel grant.
