Virtual Conference

Because of COVID -19,  IFIP Networking 2021 and the workshops in conjunction will be organised as a virtual conference on Zoom.
 
In parallel we will use Slack for documenting interactions/discussions that the participants will wish to keep for a longer period than the session chat. During the sessions, authors will be present on the chat channel and participate live in oral question and answer sessions after their presentation.

Video instructions

Authors of accepted and registered papers for IFIP 2021 are required to upload a pre-recorded video of their paper presentation.

The presentation can be recorded by any of the co-authors and will be available during the original dates of the conference and on-demand after the conference concludes. 

We request you to prepare and upload a video of your presentation, comprised of a brief introduction with webcam, if desired, followed by voice over slides for your presentation. This is a requirement for your paper to appear in IEEE Xplore. Please note that the file must be a video file in MP4 format (more details below). You can use any meeting software as long as you get a good quality recording and your final file is in the MP4 format. Here are some links to instructions on recording a meeting on common platforms:

Duration for Video Presentations

Full papers presentation video: 15 min

FIT workshop presentation video: 15 min

DI2F workshop presentation video: 15 min

TENSOR workshop presentation video: 15 min

For the demo and poster sessions, the duration is 2-3 mins while in the actual sessions the authors can explain their work in more depth with additional material (PowerPoint, pdfs, animations etc)

Guidelines for preparing your video

File size: 100MB max

Video file format: mp4

Dimensions: Minimum height 480 pixels, aspect ratio: 16:9

  • Deadline for submitting your prerecorded paper presentation video to us through EDAS is 23.59 EEST on June 15, 2021.
  • Length of the video for a conference paper is 15 min or less.
  • Pay attention to quality of audio recording and clarity of the presentation
  • Consider that the main purpose of the video is to raise the interest of the listener to read your paper, so in particular pay attention to
    • motivation
    • main contribution and why this is beyond state of the art
  • Pay attention to how many words you utter per minute, more is not better. Keep the pace such that following your story is easy.
